Has Florida Department of Law Enforcement earned accreditation?
Beginning November 3rd, Historic City News has learned that assessors with the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation will begin evaluation of Florida’s top law enforcement agency to see if they are meeting more than 80 compliance standards.



Historic City News crime reporters have learned that a 54-year-old St Augustine man, George Catlett Getsinger, is in custody tonight; charged with capital sexual battery and awaiting extradition back from Miami.
A 44-year old St Johns County woman became the victim of credit card fraud last week when she discovered that her bankcard had been used without permission at a Publix Supermarket in Jacksonville, according to a police report filed with Historic City News this evening.


The St. Augustine Fire Department informed local Historic City News reporters that they have received a very generous and tremendously useful piece of equipment this week via a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.


Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Director James Troiano is asking Historic City News readers to come forward, as you have in the past, to help identify the persons who dumped approximately 18.5 tons of tires in the 800 block of North Old Kings Road.
