Medical Examiner: Atkins death not suicide
District 23 Medical Examiner, Dr. Predag Bulic has released his preliminary findings following the completion of his post-mortem investigation of the body of say 59 year-old Ponte Vedra Beach resident, Daryl L. Atkins.


Neighbors say 59 year-old Daryl L. Atkins had been drinking last night — to the point that he passed out and fell to the ground in front of his Ponte Vedra Beach condominium; the place, where within hours, he would lose his life.
Sheriff’s representatives, Public Information Officer Sergeant Chuck Mulligan and Community Affairs Corporal Catherine Payne, are on the scene of a despondent individual who they report fired on deputies when they attempted to contact him.

The City of St Augustine wants to notify Historic City News readers to expect San Marco Avenue to be closed to all vehicular traffic during the 2012 March for Life procession that begins at approximately 12 noon on Saturday, January 14.

Historic City News was informed that St Johns County firefighters had a residential structure fire under control in approximately 45 minutes yesterday evening; however, salvage and overhaul operations at the Palencia home continued throughout the night and into this morning.
An early-morning collision in St Augustine sent the victim of a hit-and-run to Flagler Hospital with what are described as “life threatening” injuries, according to information received by Historic City News from sheriff’s spokesman Sargent Charles E. Mulligan.
