Stanaland guilty of capital murder
Apparently not buying the story that his ex-wife shot Jesse “Pee Wee” Whitley, Historic City News has learned that the jury returned a “guilty” verdict against Steven Leslie Stanaland Jr. today — after less than one hour of deliberation.


Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department will join local and national law enforcement officers across the country for the 2011 national “Click It or Ticket” seat belt enforcement mobilization, May 23-June 5.
Police report to Historic City News that after obtaining a warrant to search the car driven by 29 year-old Jared Matthew Bruge on May 9th, items were found that appear to be the same as those seen in a video surveillance from the scene of a different armed robbery.
By 9:00 a.m. this morning, Flagler County deputies told Historic City News reporters that they were searching for an unknown subject who may have been looking to get high — literally.
Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called at about 1:00 a.m. yesterday morning to disperse a crowd that was growing at Denny’s located at 1300 Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
Historic City News has received word that, over the weekend, five teenage boys, between 15 and 17 years of age, were transported to Baptist South Hospital after exhibiting violent symptoms believed to have been caused from eating a substance ordered from the Republic of China.

Crash investigator J.D. “Mac” McGinnis reported to Historic City News from the scene that, for the second time in one week, traffic unit members of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office have responded to an ATV crash on a public street.
