St. Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar has designated that Historic City News readers may report the following crimes through the sjso.org website without the necessity of calling the office or waiting to meet with a deputy to file a simple incident report.
Sheriff Shoar stressed that use of the online reporting system is simply “an option”, saying that “our citizens may utilize the website to assist them in documenting a crime — it is not mandatory.”

Traffic Safety Team at beach pier today
Community Traffic Safety Program Manager Andrea Atran informed Historic City News that this morning, beginning at 10:00 a.m., the St. Johns Traffic Safety Team will be greeting visitors to the Farmer’s Market, next to the St. Augustine Beach Pier.

Shooting death treated as homicide
Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Kelshaw told Historic City News local crime patrol reporters that we should have more answers today in the shooting death of a Fruit Cove area woman that occurred early Tuesday morning.

The St. Augustine Police Department is asking Historic City News readers for help locating a 16 year old missing runway from 12 Nesbit Avenue in St. Augustine.

Dozen burglaries cleared with one arrest
Public Information Officer Mark Samson informed crime patrol reporters with Historic City News that a 30 year-old St. Johns County man, wanted in connection with a dozen auto burglaries, was arrested by St. Augustine Police last week.

Fire destroys guest room in beach resort
Jeremy Robshaw alerted Historic City News reporters that firefighters and paramedics received an E-911 call reporting a fire in one of the guest rooms at the St. Augustine Beachfront Resort located at 300 A1A Beach Boulevard.

Arrest in Internet sex investigation
Historic City News has learned that, yesterday, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office investigation of a 20 year-old Valdosta man has resulted in a federal grand jury indictment on charges he attempted to entice a minor child over the Internet for sex.
