Conviction in fraudulent mortgage scheme

U.S. Attorney Robert E. O’Neill announced to Historic City News that a federal jury yesterday found 48 year-old Jacksonville resident David Wesley Vickers guilty of nineteen counts arising out of a mortgage fraud scheme, including conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud.

Historic City News has been informed by Michelle Reyna that St. Augustine has been honored with an invitation to participate in the Inaugural Gubernatorial Parade for Governor-Elect Rick Scott on January 4, 2011.

Burglary to Palm Coast jewelry and pawn shop

Public Information Officer Debra Johnson told local St. Johns County reporters with Historic City News that deputies in Flagler County are investigating the late night break-in of a Palm Coast jewelry and pawn shop.

Governor appoints Christine county court judge

Sterling Ivey reported to Historic City News from the Executive Office of the Governor today that local attorney Alexander R. Christine has been appointed to the St. Johns County Court.

Womens Council installs 2011 officers

The St. Augustine Regional Chapter of Women’s Council of REALTORS reported to Historic City News that they hosted their annual installation luncheon honoring the chapter’s 2011 slate of officers.

Community Affairs Officer Barbara Stevens reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department is participating with “The Voice of Lincolnville”, Carrie Johnson, and their friends during the upcoming, annual Community Christmas Caroling event.

The somewhat controversial non-profit First America Foundation, was missing-in-action at the last meeting of the St. Augustine City Commission where it was expected to make an updated report to commissioners as to its progress.
