County announces Veterans Day schedule
All St. Johns County offices and St. Johns County Public Libraries will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2011, in observance of Veterans Day.

Michael Edward Green escaped capture during a traffic stop late yesterday evening after officers say he fled from the area of South Dixie Highway and Aviles Drive in St. Augustine; according to word received by Historic City News from sheriff’s spokesman, Kevin Kelshaw.

A man is being sought by police today after he reportedly relieved himself in the document tube of a drive-through teller at a Palm Coast bank yesterday, according to an alert forwarded by Public Information Officer Debra Johnson to Historic City News this afternoon.
Historic City News has been notified by the Office of the United States Attorney that an antique family heirloom, stolen by a St. Augustine woman and her accomplice, was returned yesterday to the great grandson of its original owner in Houston, Texas.
St. Augustine Visitors and Convention Bureau Communications Director Jay Humphreys informed Historic City News reporters that in addition to the regular First Friday Art Walk event, this week holds some extra special events including the 26th Annual Great Chowder Debate to benefit the Shriner Children’s Hospital and a chance to slip back to the late 1970’s during an Al Stewart concert.
