Hurricane Florence is making landfall in North Carolina, creeping ashore at 6 mph – but bringing winds of 90 mph, a massive storm surge, and a rain system that will soak much of the state and South Carolina for days. Forecasters warn of “life –threatening, catastrophic flash flooding”.

Two arrests have been made and two others are in custody in the fatal shooting on Cowan Road that occurred at about 1:30 a.m. yesterday morning. The investigation of gunshots fired led to the discovery of one dead male body; found outside the residence by the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
