Sheriff: Keep Halloween Safe

St. Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar told Historic City News today that his office will be stepping up patrols for Halloween on October 31st in an effort to keep area youngsters safe as they go trick-or-treating in their local neighborhoods.

Suspect in Publix liquor store robbery nabbed

A citizen tip generated during the manhunt for a robbery suspect in connection with Thursday’s armed robbery of Publix Liquors at Tuscan Way near Mill Creek has resulted in the apprehension of a 34 year-old St. Johns County man.

A new attempt to fix King and Cordova intersection

Historic City News local reporters were notified that the City of St. Augustine will be making improvements in signage, traffic lights and the installation of quick-curbs, in an effort to help relieve traffic congestion at the intersection of King and Cordova streets.

Storm-water reserves may pay for Riberia project

Historic City News will be watching as St. Augustine City Commissioners meet on Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the Alcazar Room at City Hall to consider a transfer of $3.4 million from storm-water reserves to begin the Riberia Street improvement project in January.
