Vilano Town Center looking up

Vivian Browning, a local resident who has owned property on Vilano Beach since 1986 and serves as chair of the Vilano Beach Town Center Redevelopment Group, has to feel optimistic now that Publix Supermarkets has confirmed with Historic City News that they have signed a lease.

Plans that originally called for a 10,000 square foot Castillo Orientation Center in the Colonial Spanish Quarter could be expanded to a 15,000 or 20,000 square foot, two story “world class interpretive experience” in a partnership being discussed between the city and University of Florida.

Hunt on for SR-16 and I-95 robbery suspect

St. Johns County Sherriff David B. Shoar has asked Historic City News readers for their help in identifying a man that is being sought in connection with a strong armed robbery that occurred on Saturday afternoon in a motel room of the Best Western motel located at SR-16 and I-95.
