Appointments being shaped for 450th

Historic City News has learned that the consul generals of Spain, Britain, and France, a former U. S. Secretary of State, and former Florida Governor are among recommendations by the City Commission for appointments to local and federal 450th commemoration bodies.

Saturday’s historic sign paint-over and recent building restorations on San Marco Avenue and Castillo Drive point up possible weaknesses in codes protecting our historic resources more than 50 years old.

Mayor saddened at loss of historic sign

Mayor Joe Boles said Saturday that he is “saddened” at the loss of the historic Indian River Fruit Stand signage on the San Marco side of the building at San Marco Avenue and Locust Street according to a report received by Historic City News this morning.
