Musket volley marks the Change of Flags ceremony

On Saturday, December 3rd, Historic City News readers are invited to join hundreds of costumed re-enactors from St. Augustine’s Colonial history as they perform military drills, and cannon and musket firing on the grounds of the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument.

Judge DuPont must answer for campaign misstatements

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission reported to Historic City News that they have notified the state Supreme Court of five counts of misconduct against 7th Judicial Circuit Judge Scott DuPont. The 7th Judicial Circuit serves Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties.

Former city commissioner spends Thanksgiving in jail

Historic City News was informed that former St Augustine city commissioner, and one time vice-mayor, Errol D. Jones, spent his Thanksgiving away from his family and friends as he was in custody in the St Johns County Detention Facility.

Pedestrian second to die in vehicle collision over last week

A 42-Year-Old Altoona, Pennsylvania man was killed Thanksgiving morning after being struck by a passing tractor trailer on US-1 South near St Augustine Shores. This is the second such death in the last week.

Medical Examiner says Spring Street deaths are homicide

Historic City News has received confirmation through the Office of Chief Medical Examiner Predrag Bulic, M.D., that the remains recovered from the burning SUV last week were indeed victims of homicide.
