A year later son of city commissioner returns from prison

On Monday afternoon, January 25, 2016, three armed men entered an occupied residence located on West Jayce Way in Ravenswood, demanding the valuables of the occupants; two men and a woman in their early 20’s. The robbers fled with a cellphone, car keys, and an undisclosed amount of cash taken from the victims.

Developer John Kinsey reported to Historic City News that Chilean-based Crystal Lagoon, the company behind the technology that will allow his master planned community in northern St Johns county to create the feeling of a tropical paradise, has signed Olympic star Michael Phelps as a spokesman for its product.

Joint task force rids streets of drugs and firearms

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly invited Historic City News to attend a press conference Friday morning with members of ATF, FDLE, Northeast Florida HIDTA, the Bunnell Police Department, the US Attorney’s Office, and State Attorney for the 7th Judicial Circuit, R. J. Larizza, to announce the outcome of Operation Heat Seeker.

Man making “citizen’s arrest” taken to jail instead

A 33-year-old St Johns County man who wanted to hand over a man he had taken into custody under a “citizen’s arrest” for alleged drug activity and false police reporting, was himself arrested when sheriff’s deputies arrived at the victim’s residence in Treasure Beach on Friday.
