The city’s Public Affairs Director has announced to Historic City News that an already familiar public information publication titled “The St. Augustine Report” will become an official E-Newsletter resource for the community.

The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners announced to Historic City News today that the Bird Island Park Board of Directors and countless community supporters are celebrating the groundbreaking of Bird Island Park.

Advisor Paula Holanchock, Society for Advancement of Management, reported to Historic City News that about 100 Flagler College students recently learned the professional etiquette they’ll need to advance their careers at a free dinner sponsored by Kresge, Platt & Abare.

Historic City News has learned that the St. Augustine Chapter of the NAACP, 40th ACCORD, the Stetson Kennedy Foundation, and the Democratic Party of St. Johns County will sponsor a film which chronicles the little-known story of American’s first voting rights activist Harry T. Moore, who was assassinated, along with his wife, on Christmas night in 1951.

Communications Director Jay Humphreys with the St. Augustine Visitors and Convention Bureau reported to Historic City News that movies, arts and chocolate top several event choices in America’s Oldest City this weekend.

Historic City News has learned that the cast of Up With People will be performing on Thursday, February 26th at 7 p.m. at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

Media Specialist Liz Daube has reported to Historic City News that motivational speaker Chuck Tompkins will present “Whale Done!: The Power of Positive Relationships” on Feb. 19th at 6 p.m. in the Flagler College Auditorium located at 14 Granada St.

Beginning Wednesday, February 11, construction crews will be driving piles into the ground for the new boardwalk at the Bird Island Park construction site, located just behind the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
