In an e-mail update from Cathy DuPont, Neighborhood Coordinator in the Department of Public Affairs with the City of St. Augustine, Historic City News was informed that both the Visitor’s Information Center Gift Shop and the Spanish Quarter Gift Shop will have extended hours for the month of July.

City of St. Augustine Beach Comprehensive Planning and Zoning Board announced a workshop meeting for tomorrow night, Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. to be held at City Hall, 2200 State Road A1A South in St. Augustine Beach.

Presentations of Citizenship Awards to area high school students were made during the Monday, June 9th City Commission meeting according to a media release received by Historic City News this morning.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner; one favorite spot for locals and downtown visitors is George Chryssaidis’ Athena Restaurant located on the Plaza at 14 Cathedral Place. Athena is known for good service, a cozy atmosphere and some of the best authentic Greek cuisine in St. Augustine.

The Gallery at Screen Arts has advised Historic City News of the art exhibit opening, ”No Refunds – The Art of Mitch O’Connell”, taking place Friday June 6, 2008 from 6 p.m. until Midnight. Live DJs will be spinning music for the duration. Refreshments to appease the American palate will be served. The show will run through July 31, 2008.
