St Augustine Fire Chief Carlos Aviles reported to Historic City News that it is with great sadness that he announces the passing of retired Fire Chief Jay Philip Kennedy on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Kennedy was 78-years-old.

Historic City News was informed that Trinity Episcopal Parish is welcoming their new Rector, Rev. Matt Marino, and his wife Kari. Fr Matt fills the position opened by the retirement of Fr. David Weidner on September 1, 2018.

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.
Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas. FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.
