Chavez convicted on weapons charges

Mother’s homicide still unsolved

Historic City News was informed when the Elkton woman, who was a person of interest in the investigation of her mother’s disappearance and homicide, was convicted Thursday by a St. Johns County jury on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.





Lieutenant Justin Asbury is cautioning Historic City News readers about potentially deteriorating driving conditions in the area of SR-206, east of US-1 near Dupont Center.
The National Weather Service has alerted Historic City News to severe weather conditions expected tonight through Sunday for St Johns and surrounding counties. There is a threat of tornadoes until early this evening.
Traffic Homicide investigators from the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Children and Families are continuing their investigation into the death of 3-year-old Christopher Lee Lamer, who lived on Turpin Avenue in Hastings.
