As Historic City News continues to monitor the weather conditions in the area, it is being reported that most of St Johns County flooding has subsided; Flagler County continues to experience isolated flooding in some areas of the county.
The Homicide Investigation Unit of the Office of the State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit, the Sheriff’s Major Crime Unit and the District 23 Medical Examiner have informed local Historic City News reporters that they are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 39-year-old St Johns County woman.
Historic City News was informed that heavy rainfall in amounts of 3″ to 6″ impacted southeast St Johns and northeast Flagler counties today, with some of the heaviest amounts between St Augustine Shores southward toward Palm Coast.
Flagler County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking help from Historic City News readers to identify the man who robbed a 73-year-old visitor inside his hotel room at the Best Western Hotel in Palm Coast at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Monday.
Historic City News has learned that a concerned citizen photographed the young man shown walking along the sidewalk of San Marco Avenue after he is said to have painted “Be God” in black paint on the roadway.
Graffiti is one of the most senseless forms of vandalism possible since it does nothing to endear anyone to a cause and it is universally removed without much fanfare. Historic City News reporters found two recent incidents that appear to be linked to an anti-religious message; one across the Plaza from the Cathedral and the other on the Prince of Peace sign at the Mission Nombre de Dios.
A Louisiana man convicted of First Degree Murder and Kidnapping to Facilitate a Felony was sentenced to death Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Kentrell Feronti Johnson, 43, had previously been convicted of those charges at the end of June of this year. Circuit Judge Raul Zambrano, who presided over the trial and penalty phase of Johnson’s case, followed the jury’s unanimous recommendation of death.
