Investigators from the Florida Highway Patrol brought charges today against the driver in the fatal traffic crash that occurred on March 28, 2013.

This morning a small group of residents and visitors joined a complement of fire academy cadets, city and county firefighters and emergency medical personnel, police officers, and representatives from other law enforcement agencies, to remember the American tragedy that introduced a new term to the national vocabulary — Nine-Eleven.

At about 1:30 a.m. this morning, 43-year-old Aaron Brinson Ray, who had lived at 2655 Race Track Rd, with his wife Amanda since 2007, was shot and killed by two deputy sheriffs who were responding to a domestic disturbance call at his residence.

Historic City News was informed that at about 1:30 a.m. the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Race Track Road that turned deadly when deputies shot and killed one person at the scene.
