Historic City News subscribers should be on the lookout as US Government relief payments began arriving in Americans’ bank accounts this week.  Depending on how your Federal Income Tax refund was paid in 2018 or 2019, you may be receiving your relief payment by paper check, so watch your mailbox.

Longtime local news reporter, Al Brennan, known for his Paul Harvey style signoff, has passed away according to an announcement on local radio station WFOY radio; one of many radio stations in the area where Brennan hung his hat throughout his career.  Brennan was 79 years old.

The IRS tweeted Saturday that it had begun depositing the economic impact payments into taxpayers’ bank accounts and would be working to get them out as fast as possible. The one-time payments were approved by Congress as part of an emergency relief package intended to combat the economic damage from the coronavirus pandemic.
