A relentless resident of the City of St Augustine Beach, Tom Reynolds, has been on the warpath about an ordinance that assesses property owners $74 for trash collection at certain properties within the city limits.

After considerable pushback from northeast St Johns County residents and beachgoers, on plans announced last week to close the Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park every weekday for construction and maintenance, the Board of County Commissioners amended the dune reconstruction schedule.

Police certificate revocations reported in St Johns County

Analysts with USA Today compiled a list of more than 30,000 cases of police de-certifications, including 33 from St Augustine, St Augustine Beach, and St Johns County. In Florida, de-certification occurs when the 19-member Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission issues a Final Order in the case.

Man arrested for molesting 11-year-old child of deceased girlfriend

On July 2, 2019 the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call to investigate the complaint of an 11-year-old girl who claimed that for over a year, she had been inappropriately touched by 53-year-old Phillip Frederick Martin, who was the former boyfriend of the child’s now deceased mother.
