The St. Johns County community has stepped in and they are helping to pay for The Arc of St Johns $1.8 million Safe Harbor hurricane shelter for people with disabilities. The St. Johns County community has donated $1.3 million in just six months toward the cost of building the shelter and classrooms.
On Friday evening November 15th, about 7:00 p.m. Flagler County deputy Dana Smith responded to the residence of an anonymous caller on Surfview Drive in the Hammock. The caller recovered a gym bag on the beach containing fifteen individually wrapped packages of a white substance which field-tested positive for cocaine.

When Freshman City Commissioner John Valdes of St Augustine floated a proposal for a referendum to be placed on the ballot in the upcoming Presidential Preference Election that would silence the City’s 14,000 voters when it came to selecting their mayor, Historic City News Editorial Board members scratched their heads and asked, “Why?”
It was a low-speed escape, but taxpayers in the City of St Augustine witnessed almost a half-million dollars, lifted from city reserve funds March 5th, as it made its escape out of the city limits, out of St Johns County, and, by nightfall Tuesday, was stashed 62-road-miles away in Flagler County.
Today, the St Johns River Water Management District Governing Board reported to Historic City News that they have approved contracts for two agricultural cost-share projects that will reduce water use by 1.41 million gallons-per-day and reduce nitrogen and phosphorus loading to the St Johns River in the Tri-County Agricultural Area of St Johns, Putnam, and Flagler counties.
