City remembers Voice of Lincolnville by renaming street in her honor

Historic City News subscribers are invited to join City officials in St Augustine on Saturday, February 20, at 12:00 noon, at the corner of Bravo Street and Weeden Street in Lincolnville for an unveiling ceremony honoring Carrie Johnson, lovingly remembered as the Voice of “Lincolnville”.  During its Monday January 13, 2020 meeting, the St Augustine City Commission voted to celebrate Johnson’s life by renaming Bravo Street (between Riberia Street and Sanford Street) to “Carrie Johnson Way”.

The Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway, Inc. are pleased to announce their 2020 Volunteer of the Year, Captain Adam Morley.  Currently serving as vice president of the organization, Morley was recognized for his service to the Friends of A1A and presented with the annual volunteer service award, at the Coastal Policy Center in Marineland, Florida last month.

Thursday, January 7, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m., Historic City News subscribers can visit a secure link provided by St Johns County Management to register online for an appointment to receive the vaccine for the Neuvo Coronavirus COVID-19. The state program is administered by the Florida Department of Health. Locally, the county has partnered with the Department to more efficiently arrange appointments.
