St. Augustine Humane Society’s Operations Director, Carolyn Smith, updated local Historic City News reporters about its newest fundraising program to support its mission to prevent pet overpopulation through affordable spay neuter programs.

Bradley K. Davis notified local Historic City News reporters that three new inductees have been named for this year’s St. Augustine – Ketterlinus High School Alumni Association “Hall of Fame”.

September is a popular time for Historic City News readers to celebrate St. Augustine’s rich Spanish Heritage and this year a special “Days in Old Spain Fiesta” is planned with performing artists, authentic Colonial Spanish reenactments, contests, dancing and heritage games.
Dr. Robert B. Hayling, a retired First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, former resident, local dentist, and leader of the 1960’s Civil Rights Movement in St. Augustine was awarded one of the City’s highest honors: the de Aviles Award.
