Christmas (yes Christmas, not “the holidays”) is coming soon — I can tell because of all of the television ads that have broken into my home reminding me of that fact since shortly after Memorial Day. Another clue has been the reappearance of decorations about town that have been out of sight for the past 10 months or so.
Historic City News readers have been given every possible encouragement from Paul Williamson, Director of Public Affairs; Dana Ste Claire, Director of the 450th Commemoration; as well as outgoing mayor, Joe Boles, concerning the “overwhelming support” being shown for the 450th anniversary of the founding of St Augustine.

Arriving in St. Augustine as part-timers in 1990, (is that long enough to be acceptable?), we fell in love with the historic town; a typical story. The neighborhoods were definitely not chic, but possessed great charm and enormous potential. We dreamed of becoming permanent residents.
