St Johns County Tax Collector Dennis Hollingsworth reported to Historic City News that his offices are now selling Beach Driving Passes for 2022, suggesting that they make “great stocking stuffers” for the holiday season.
On Monday, December 13, Governor Ron DeSantis announced to local Historic City News reporters the appointment of 36-year-old Sarah Salley Arnold to the St Johns County Board of County Commissioners.
From a special press conference held in (Let’s Go) Brandon, Florida, Historic City News reporters learned that Governor Ron DeSantis has signed, sealed, and delivered a win for individual freedoms in our state through four tough-fought bills recently passed during a special session of the Florida Legislature.
During the special reorganizational meeting of the St Johns County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday morning, Historic City News welcomed District 5 Commissioner Henry Dean to the dais to serve as Chairman for the coming year. Christian Whitehurst, Commissioner for District 1, was elected to serve as Vice Chairman.
Claiming that Florida is fed up with Republican Governor Ron DeSantis and his “games”, a spokesman for the Democratic Governors Association is calling DeSantis “vulnerable” as the governor officially filed paperwork to run for re-election this week.
Historic City News has received notification from government offices in the City of St Augustine, St. Johns County, and the City of St. Augustine Beach that they will be closed Thursday in recognition of Veterans Day.
During the regular Tuesday meeting of the St Johns County Commission, District 2 Commissioner Jeb S Smith formally announced his resignation to serve as president of the Florida Farm Bureau: the state’s largest agricultural organization with more than 136,000 members. The Farm Bureau represents farm owners who produce all 300 of the state’s agricultural commodities.
October 1st, Florida Representative Cyndi Stevenson, Paul Renner, and State Senator Travis Hutson convened the annual state legislative delegation hearing in St Augustine.
