Historic City News listened as County Commissioners extolled the benefits of extending the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in St. Johns County for an additional hour; effective December 19th.

Historic City News received official word yesterday afternoon that effective January 2, 2010, Sergeant Major (Ret) Ray A. Quinn has been appointed as Interim St. Johns County Commissioner for District 3 while County Commissioner Mark P. Miner takes a temporary leave of absence.

City Attorney Ron Brown will introduce a resolution to commissioners Monday night to designate the promenade and grounds surrounding the St. Augustine and St. Johns County Visitor Information Center and Historic Downtown Parking Facility as “proprietary city facilities”.
