When the St Augustine City Commission met in early session Monday afternoon, a suggestion was advanced that is reminiscent of a small recognition received from the Post Office Department during they city’s 400th anniversary in 1965.

Pete Weiland, president of firefighters Local 2282 IAFF, reported to Historic City News that this Sunday, December 18th from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., the first annual Winter Wonderland Firefighter Chili Cookoff will be held at the St Augustine Amphitheatre.
Marine Rescue Lieutenant Jeremy Robshaw invites applicants interested in seasonal employment as a St Johns County lifeguard to contact his office at (904) 209-0366 and to attend a required orientation and tryout during the coming weeks.
