Historic City News learned, in an alert from Florida Highway Patrol Troop G, that the driver of a 2001 Honda Civic that crashed into a power pole on CR-13 at about 11:12 p.m. last night, has been charged with Careless Driving and additional charges are pending receipt of the results of a blood alcohol test.

Guardians gang members headed for prison

U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard sentenced five members of the “Guardians” gang last Friday to federal prison terms. Maynard Kenneth Godwin (33, Jacksonville), Andrew Chase Wilkie (31, Callahan) and Eric Steven Ellis (28, Atlantic Beach) were convicted of conspiracy and violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
