When Historic City News reporter Lindsay Norton went for her daily walk on Vilano Beach this morning, she was surprised to find a 64-foot yacht that ran aground after it broke free from its anchor in the St Augustine inlet.

The scene was tense last night when Debra Johnson reported to Historic City News that a 32-year-old Palm Coast man, armed with an 18″ machete, was shot and killed by a Flagler County deputy sheriff; after a Taser shot failed to stay his advance against another officer.

The St Johns County Sheriff’s Office informed local Historic City News reporters that deputies responded last night at 10:40 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at the Subway restaurant located at 8804 West Church Street in Hastings.
