Murder-suicide may have been purpose of death in Royal St Augustine

According to a report from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, received by Historic City News last night, a residence on Oxford Drive, off of Royal St Augustine Parkway, became a crime scene after law enforcement detectives found the remains of an elderly man and a seriously injured woman reortedly with “cut or stab wounds”.

Law enforcement responds to scare at local high school

Earlier this morning Historic City News learned that an anonymous source sent a message through a social media network to a student at St Augustine High School.  The student shared the message out of concern and “several units” responded, according to a press release from the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

Biketoberfest now through October 20

The 27th Annual Biketoberfest began today and runs through October 20, 2019.  Biketoberfest is an annual motorcycle rally hosted in Daytona Beach and is expected to draw more than 125,000 visitors.

St Johns Emergency Management watching potential tropical cyclone

Historic City News was notified by spokesperson Kelly Wilson that St Johns County Emergency Management is monitoring a potential tropical cyclone centered about 620 miles southwest of the mouth of the Mississippi River.  The potential tropical cyclone is moving at nearly 8 mph.
