Germain sentenced to life for attempted murder of deputy

A St. Augustine man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday, months after being convicted of attempted first-degree murder of a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Deputy, according to sheriff’s office records.  Brad Germain, 42, was convicted in November after the State Attorney’s Office said he attempted to murder a deputy with a homemade pipe gun.

Starting on Monday, January 13th through Thursday, January 16th, Historic City News has learned that the fuel dock at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina will be shut down in order to replace all diesel and gasoline fuel dispensers.  New fuel dispensers will be installed.

Today, Historic City News learned that Senator Travis Hutson has filed a bill that he says will better prepare high school students to evaluate the viability of their potential career paths.  The bill, SB-1578, directs the Department of Education to provide “career landscape” information about various jobs through local high school guidance counselors.
