Historic City News was informed by the Engineering Division of the St Johns County Public Works Department that beginning Tuesday, October 1, 2019, road construction will begin on West Jayce Way off Ravenswood Drive.

For over 15 years, St. Johns County students have participated in an art and poetry contest called, “A Day Without Violence”.  The contest focuses on peace in the home.  On display are the winners of the Betty Griffin Center annual calendar for 2020.

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

The City of St. Augustine is offering a salute to its own Spanish heritage by observing National Hispanic Heritage Month with a Spanish flag displayed at the entrance to City Hall.

Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission for two people on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

West African Drum Circles is a group of artisans whose primary purpose is to engage the Saint Augustine community in a family-friendly, free-flowing musical experience to foster unity and fellowship.
