St Johns County sheriff’s patrol shift leader, Napolian Junior Staggers, was arrested after a domestic disturbance escalated to gunfire at a home in Ponte Vedra Beach this morning at about 1:17 a.m. according to a report received by Historic City News.

IRS Supervisory Special Agent Ryan Thompson informed local Historic City News reporters that the Tampa Criminal Investigation Field Office has seen a variety of Economic Impact Payment scams and other financial schemes looking to take advantage of unsuspecting taxpayers.

While Ronald Rawls of Gainesville, Florida was assembling protestors, two city police officers were in the gazebo watching the Confederate memorial.  Volunteer members of the Ladies Memorial Association of St Augustine are planning to keep watch over the historic artifact overnight.

Pursuant to Section 403.077, F.S., the Florida Department of Environmental Protection informed local Historic City News reporters that they have received the following Public Notice of Pollution for a reportable release that occurred within St Johns County.

There is a local demonstration, being called a “Justice Caravan” planned for 6:00 p.m. tonight at the Bridge of Lions in downtown St Augustine.  One of the group’s organizers, the Jacksonville Community Action Committee, has announced three separate protests in our area.

Although qualifying for election to hold county offices is held from noon, June 8, 2020, through noon, June 12, 2020, Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes told local Historic City News reporters that, pursuant to Section 99.061(8), F.S., her office technically began accepting qualifying papers beginning May 25, 2020, even though the office was closed for Memorial Day. Today Chris Strickland and Rob Hardwick each appeared at her office, eager to get their paperwork in the queue to run for sheriff.

As residents and visitors return to St Johns County beaches this weekend, just because Historic City News subscribers will enjoy reduced coronavirus restrictions, the water’s edge still poses serious dangers.

On August 26, 2011, Historic City News reported that, following the execution of several search warrants and review of DNA test results, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Sean A. Bush in connection with the nearly three-month-old murder of his 35-year-old wife, Nicole Elise Bush.  Yesterday, the Florida Supreme Court upheld the conviction and death sentence.
