Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Dennis Shorter was called to the Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St Augustine this afternoon to investigate the crash of a privately owned experimental airplane that ran out of runway after landing.

Fatal traffic crash reroutes I-95 traffic

I-95 southbound at the Duval-St Johns county line, mile marker 333, is closed due to a fatal traffic crash. Southbound traffic is being detoured at St Augustine Road, mile marker 335, to US-1. Anticipate reopening at 9:00 a.m.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking Historic City News readers in St Augustine and St Johns County for assistance identifying and locating two suspected burglars captured on surveillance video recently in the Fruit Cove area of northwest St Johns County.
