Kelly Wilson, spokesperson for the St Johns County Emergency Management department, reported to Historic City News the initial update of Tropical Storm Eta, the effects of which will be visible by tomorrow (Sunday) morning.  The St Johns County Emergency Operations Center remains at Partial Activation Level: 2, Wilson reported.

Florida Statutes 316.2045 and 337.406 prohibit the solicitation of charitable contributions on Florida roadways; however, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida has ruled that both statutes are unconstitutional, and, therefore, unenforceable.  The case was brought on behalf of Peter Vigue.

The City of St. Augustine Public Works Department informed local Historic City News reporters that they are geared up because of a potential risk of flooding in parts of the city this weekend and looking ahead into the coming week.

Historic City News first reported on the arson attack against the 1879 Confederate Veterans Memorial on September 25th when the crime was reported. Pursuant to Section 403.077, F.S., the Florida Department of Environmental Protection informed local Historic City News reporters that they have received the following Public Notice of Pollution for a reportable release that occurred within St Johns County.

Just before 8:00 a.m. this morning, Public Information Officer Brittany Kershaw reported to Historic City News local reporters the discovery of a human body, found floating in the water at Graham Swamp located at 1635 Old Kings Road in Flagler County.
