Drug trafficking charges follow execution of search warrant at local residence

On May 23, 2019 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Historic City News was notified that the St. Augustine Police Investigations Unit served a search warrant at Smitty’s Internet Cafe, located at 311 Anastasia Boulevard.
St Johns County Sheriff David B Shoar, who does not intend to seek reelection, promises to “tell folks what they need to hear, not what they want to hear; regardless of any political expediency considerations”.

Troopers told Historic City News that 16-year-old Zander Laurin of Ponte Vedra Beach was jogging in the southbound bicycle lane of SR-A1A near Mickler’s Landing at 5:55 a.m. when he was hit by a 2012 Toyota Tundra that drifted out of its lane; striking Laurin from behind.
Just before midnight last night, May 18 at 11:45 p.m., 43-year-old James Robert Hancock, who reported his residence as 3091 Usina Road in St Augustine, was arrested and taken into custody by St Johns County sheriff’s deputies. Based on the warrant signed on May 14, 2019, by the Honorable Circuit Judge Christopher A. France, Flagler County deputies took the student into custody and arrested her. She was processed at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Daytona Beach.
