City of St Augustine holiday closures

Historic City News subscribers are notified that all offices for the City of St Augustine will be closed on Friday, December 23, and Monday, December 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday and on Monday, January 2 in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

Lighthouse team investigating shipwreck discovered in Volusia County

Historic City News was informed that a team from the Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program was working on December 5-6 at the scene of a shipwreck recently discovered in Daytona Beach Shores. The wreckage began appearing after Hurricanes Ian and Nicole, but it has been partially buried on and off due to the tides.
