Analysts with USA Today compiled a list of more than 30,000 cases of police de-certifications, including 33 from St Augustine, St Augustine Beach, and St Johns County.  In Florida, de-certification occurs when the 19-member Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission issues a Final Order in the case.

On July 2, 2019 the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call to investigate the complaint of an 11-year-old girl who claimed that for over a year, she had been inappropriately touched by 53-year-old Phillip Frederick Martin, who was the former boyfriend of the child’s now deceased mother.

City water treatment process has resumed

Telling Historic City News reporters that the process is “standard operating practice”, on Thursday November 7, 2019, the City of St Augustine Water Treatment Plant operators resumed the process of feeding ammonia and reversion to chloramine disinfection.
