Investigation of the incidents surrounding the homicide of 62-year-old Tracey Ann Roof during the late evening of November 21st, and early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day, have culminated in the arrest of her boyfriend, 67-year-old Ronald Curtis Caruso, according to detectives who have been working the case.

At about 8:00 p.m. last night, Historic City News was informed that St Augustine Police had been dispatched to 60 Julia Street to quiet a disturbance.  The victim, a female resident of the home claimed that she was “pushed down by Errol Jones and was trapped in her room”.

At about 11:00 a.m. Friday, Historic City News was informed that a St Johns County major crimes detective, 52-year-old Jeffrey Lewis Cook, has been arrested and charged with lewd & lascivious molestation.  As of Monday morning, Cook remains in custody for the second-degree felony, in lieu of $150,000 bond.

According to the St. Augustine Police Department, a city employee told police Wednesday evening that she got a call from a co-worker about a woman lying on the floor of the men’s restroom at Cafe del Hidalgo, 35 Hypolita Street.
