Congress looking for ways to save the post office
The days of the “penny postcard” are gone forever; but, as Congress begins work this week on trying to recapitalize the US Postal Service, some Historic City News readers are asking, “Why should they?”



Historic City News learned that Governor Rick Scott signed SB 98 into law Friday — allowing school districts to implement policies letting students of all grade levels deliver “inspirational messages” at official school assemblies and events.
A week shy of his 67th birthday, J Raul Espinosa of St Augustine announced to Historic City News that he has formed an exploratory committee to consider a run for the US Congress in the newly created Sixth Congressional District, which includes Saint Johns, Flagler, Volusia and Putnam counties.
Boasting US creativity and German ingenuity as a very strong combination, Michael Turwitt, President of 2G CENERGY Power Systems Technologies, Inc., reported to Historic City News this morning that his company, with US headquarters in Orange Park, plans to establish a manufacturing location in St Johns County.
