Letter: Commissioners and staff behaving badly

Dear Editor:
First, I’d like to say I respect the St Johns County Commissioners for what they sat through at Tuesday’s meeting. After being there much of the day, I felt like I had put in a long day of work.

Once again, the county Administrator is threatening reductions in services if you do not give him more of your money. They are threatening to cut parks and recreation and libraries and the things they know are closest to you because they have a short term problem and only seem able to rely on cynical methods of manipulation to solve their problems at the expense of the greater community.

As published in Historic City News on March 7, 2014, based on a statement received the day before from Dana Ste. Claire, Executive Director of the St. Augustine 450th Commemoration Department, the City’s contribution to the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act was to be the exhibition of “Journey: 450 Years of the African-American Experience” in the newly remodeled Visitor Information Center.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports to Historic City News that Florida has experienced an alarming increase in the number of fatal hit-and-run crashes during the last two years; so, they are asking our readers who are involved in a crash, to do the right thing and stop.
