Historic City News has learned that eight Flagler College students recently returned from the nationally-recognized Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Charleston, where they competed in categories ranging from design and technical theatre to performance, stage management and dramaturgy.

Detention facility maintenance man arrested for equipment theft

Thursday, a 28-year-old maintenance technician, working at the St Johns County Juvenile Detention Facility on Avenue D in St Augustine, was arrested on multiple charges following a reported employee theft.

Funding for improvement, communication and education projects

The City of St. Augustine announced to Historic City News that applications are available for the 2016 Neighborhood Grant Program. The deadline for applications is Monday, March 21. Applications are evaluated by a committee of city staff members which presents a package of recommended projects and funding for each to the city manager.

Joyner doesn’t like grades but proud of children’s performance

School grades released to Historic City News today show that the St. Johns County School District has maintained its ranking as one of the top performing districts in the state. St. Johns County had 28 “A” schools, four “B” schools, and two “C” schools.

FDOT road repairs and maintenance report

Debbie Delgado reported the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
