Police make two arrests in lion vandalism
Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department has made two arrests and closed their investigation into this week’s vandalism of the marble lion statutes at the west end of the Bridge of Lions.


Historic City News has received a booklet of comments from residents who have asked questions regarding the proposed St. Johns County budget that have been answered by county administration and last revised on August 8, 2011.
Congressman John L. Mica announced to Historic City News today that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has given final approval to $4.7 million for the St. Augustine Seawall project.
At 5:54 p.m. this evening, St. Johns County Sheriff’s spokesman Chuck Mulligan informed Historic City News reporters that the “self-evacuation” has been lifted in the area of the gas station fire on SR-16 and Masters Drive, however, the fire has still not been extinguished.
