Do we need the Federal Reserve System?

November 22nd was declared “End the Fed” day by a group of bloggers who support the passage of Representative Ron Paul’s legislation which would repeal the Federal Reserve Act — thereby putting an end to the Federal Reserve System; H.R. 2755.

Historic City News learned that winter’s icy chill will return to Florida’s Anastasia Island when Winter Wonderland opens November 21 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre according to Communications Director Jay Humphreys, St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau.

52nd Fall Art and Craft Festival

Jay Humphreys with the St. Augustine Visitors and Convention Bureau reported to Historic City News that the 52nd and largest edition of one of the Southeast’s favorite art and craft extravaganzas returns to St. Augustine on Thanksgiving Weekend, November 29-30.

County offices closed for Thanksgiving

Karen Pan reported to Historic City News that all departments of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Shelter benefits from forum’s generosity

Last month, Historic City News reported on members of a local discussion forum (www.plazabum.com) who created a humorous cap that poked fun at the name-calling of a disbarred lawyer who currently makes St. Augustine his home. (SEE “Local forum sparks humorous retort” October 28, 2008).
