Starting Friday, August 11, Historic City News readers traveling southbound St Johns Parkway CR-2209 traffic, between Russell Sampson Road and North Arabella Way, will shift to the new northbound roadway on the east side of the road.

Two more historic markers are being added to the surge over the past decade to identify historic sites in our oldest city. Since the early 2000’s the city, St. Augustine Archaeology Association and 40th ACCORD have been installing markers.
Florida Highway Patrol traffic homicide investigators reported to Historic City News that last night about 10:10 p.m., a 65-year-old St Augustine resident was killed while she attempted to cross US-1 on foot.
GateHouse Media’s parent company, New Media Investment Group, (NYSE:NEWM) announced to Historic City News today an agreement to acquire 79 publications and related assets of Morris Publishing Group, including The St. Augustine Record and The Florida Times-Union, for $120 million.
