Curfew still in effect as some residents return home. Historic City News readers are reminded that St. Johns County is still under a local curfew from 8:00 pm – 6:00 am for affected areas.
Historic City News has been informed that as of this hour, St. Johns County is opening the Usina Bridge to Vilano Beach and all bridges to Anastasia Island, including the Bridge of Lions, the SR-312 Bridge, and Matanzas Inlet Bridge.


Tonight’s situation report at 6:00 p.m. for Historic City News readers from Kelly Wilson in the office of St. Johns County Emergency Management. Conditions are expected to deteriorate considerably overnight.
The next Situation Report will be issued tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. unless conditions dictate an earlier report.
In order to protect the safety of our employees and guests during Hurricane Matthew, Historic City News has closed our office in downtown St Augustine as of 3:00 p.m. today. We will remain closed at least until Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m.

St Johns County Emergency Management has informed Historic City News that they have opened four additional shelters and are continuing to monitor shelter capacity. The Pedro Menendez High School shelter is currently at capacity.
