All city offices will be closed Friday, January 1st, New Year’s Day, to re-open at 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. Monday, January 4th.

As an editor of an online daily news journal, I read a lot of legal mumbo-jumbo about some person filing suit against another; demanding compensation for some of the most ridiculous circumstances you can imagine — and I’m sick and tired of it.

Oceans Casino Cruises Inc., which owns SunCruz Casinos and is based in Dania Beach, filed voluntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Monday in the Southern District of Florida. A Chapter 7 filing usually leads to liquidation of the company.

St. Augustine’s Opus 39 Restaurant & Food Gallery Chef Michael McMillan announced to Historic City News that he has completed his first cookbook titled “True to Flavor”.
