The University of Florida assumes the management of 34 state-owned historic properties in St. Augustine on Thursday and incoming City Manager John Regan has received a nod from the commission to continue efforts towards “building bridges” with them.
Historic City News looked on last night as St. Augustine city commissioners renewed an ordinance which extends sales of hard liquor, beer and wine until 2:00 in the morning.
In a move that that will save the city as much as $150,000 every year, Historic City News has learned that incoming City Manager John Regan has decided to promote Chief Administrative Officer Timothy A. Burchfield into a newly created position of “Assistant City Manager”.
Local preservationist Theresa Segal was featured in a July/August 2010 article discussing her formation of the citizens group, “Save our Bridge” that appeared in Preservation magazine, a publication of National Trust for Historic Preservation.
