Local Historic City News reporters learned today that St. Johns County residents will have the opportunity to be among the very first to secure a preferred spot for their boats when the St. Augustine Municipal Mooring Field begins accepting reservations on June 1.
Has the city created a black market in horse carriage permits?
As it stands today, the city allows a total of 46 permits to carriage operators which can be renewed annually for $80 per carriage. A man who once sued the city for its role in allowing a carriage permit “monopoly” now owns all but three of the permits, himself.

Gwendolyn Duncan, President of the 40th ACCORD, Inc., told local Historic City News reporters that U.S. Congressman John Lewis will serve as the Keynote Speaker at the 4th Annual ACCORD Northrop Grumman Freedom Trail Luncheon on July 2, 2010.
Public Information Officer Debra Johnson told local St. Johns County reporters with Historic City News that Corporal Jamie Roster has been named the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year”.
Cultural Council President Matt Jeffs told local Historic City News reporters that the non-profit organization is still holding their 2010 Membership Drive to help accomplish a mission of promoting St. Johns County as a premiere arts destination.
