Letter: Commission needs to listen to taxpayers

The members of the Board of County Commissioners have obviously already made up their minds to build a 72,000 square-foot facility on their campus next to the “Taj Mahal”.
The regular meeting of the St Johns County Board of Commissioners was held yesterday in the County Auditorium in the St Johns County Administration Palace located at 500 San Sebastian View in St Augustine.
City of St Augustine General Services Director, Jim Piggott, told Historic City News reporters that the pool at the Willie Galimore Center should be open by Friday, May 24th, in time for this year’s Memorial Day weekend celebration.
The Friends of A1A has reported to Historic City News that they have produced six new videos designed to attract more cycling visitors to the 72-mile Scenic and Historic A1A Coastal Byway that travels through St Johns and Flagler counties.
At a time in St Johns County’s history when property values are near an all-time low, one of our two assistant county administrators has warned the actual county administrator that time is running out to make a decision on where to house the Health and Human Services Center beginning March 29, 2015.

Why is it that the public has not been deemed worthy to receive the information used in constructing the proposed scenario for the St Johns County Health and Human Services Center?
A St Johns County woman lost her life, and her two male passengers, one only 2-years-old, were sent to the hospital after the driver flipped and rolled her 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche — an apparent attempt to avoid a crash with a slow moving vehicle that pulled in front of them on US-1, south of Wildwood Drive.
Saint Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation publicist George Gardner announced to Historic City News this morning that the local non-profit organization will use May and June to raise community awareness and funds to support their educational mission.
