Safety first when plans include outdoor activity
It is the time of year when many Historic City News readers will be taking advantage of the cooler weather to spend more time outdoors, scouting or enjoying archery season; and, through state, federal and private partnerships, Florida also boasts many diverse and exciting public hunting opportunities.



As October comes to a close and merchants are eager for brisk holiday sales, news received by Historic City News this morning from a University of Florida survey, gives little reason to celebrate. The survey says Florida’s overall consumer confidence fell to a two-year low of 71 points in October.
Ghost Tours of St Augustine Inc, the very first company of its type in North Florida to offer haunted historical tours, has announced to local Historic City News business reporters that Adam Shockey, President and CEO of Tour Saint Augustine Inc., has acquired their company.

Michael Shirley, Ph.D., Director at the Guana-Tolomato-Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve, reported to Historic City News today that an ecological prescribed burn has been scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
